Just wanted to let you guys know that I did not end up doing the NFI run out of Daytona ..It's all flooded with owner/lease ops hiring drivers paying them 1099-misc. NFI said they don't currently have any company positions with trader joe's but they offered me a lease purchase opportunity which I was not interested in .
I hope Stacey does good at Heartland and keeps us postedstuckinneutral and Stacey76 Thank this. -
I will start a new post- Just got to my motel here in Jacksonville will start Orientation tomorrow. They do put you in a nice motel A lot better than Knights Inn with Werner.
-
Good luck with Heartland.

Seriously?
They have a hard time finding drivers for that?
No traffic, no weather, & lots of beautiful scenery has no takers?
North Jacksonville terminal to south Richmond terminal would be a gravy run; the only stretch of i95 besides Maine that doesn't make me think of becoming a serial killer... -
I wonder what the rate the O/Os are getting for that run where they can pay expenses and a driver and still profit from that lane?
Well good luck with your search, hope you find something decent. -
Every o/o should be making enough to cover all expenses, pay a driver, and turn a decent profit.

I was told $1 per mile and this is a dedicated future run so there will be a fuel surcharge so I figure maybe $1.20 - $1.40 per mile total . These trucks I see also have NFI logos, numbers, plates, and a satellite on the back ,so one can assume they are leased onto NFI and probably not under their own authority.
Seeing how much it costs just to run a truck per mile using basic math and current averages ,and now they're paying a driver .40 cents per mile(most are guarunteeing $1205 per week) these guys must be driving a truck and filling payed off older trucks with drivers .
Just my theory off coursestuckinneutral Thanks this. -
Another theory is they may have a bunch of trucks . Say 15 trucks do the run perfectly 48 weeks out of the year, 2900 mile run x 48 weeks = 139200 miles
139200 x 15 trucks = 2,088,000 miles
Say the owner gets 10 cents per mile average profit of that , they are still at $208,000 per year sitting at home in Florida , and may have other established business entities , with a spouse that has a good job and health coverage, and deceased parents s that left some money behind.
There are so many different scenarios I can think of to make this profitable and bankrupt at the same time depending on the exact situationstuckinneutral Thanks this.
