Waiting 4 hours at each end of a trip, washing out a trailer, especially on a short trip with multiple stops.
Most every load is 45,000.Kwan23 Thanks this. -
I pulled reefers for 20 years and made a good living doing it. If it was so bad I wouldn't have done it for so long. Many drivers on here have pulled reefers for 20 or 30 years or longer.

Probably but only if you qualify for some state sponsored program which takes a while to go through the red tape.Kwan23 Thanks this.

You can I mean I didn't say it was impossible but you definitely make more money OTR. Not that I'm bragging but just for the purpose of showing a point, I made $200,000 last year gross and $100,000 net after expenses. Where are you making that locally unless you pull for UPS, Walmart, or FedEx?

Reefer freight pays good brother. You just gotta stack your chips for the slow times.

Good company to work for bro you're very wrong. Yea the trucks are slow but what does it matter when it brings your fuel cost to .22 per mile as a variable weekly grossing $4000 only running 2500 miles.Kwan23 Thanks this.

Jim Palmer trucking requires you to commit under contract for 1 year (or maybe 75,000 miles) after training. Otherwise, if you don't like it or whatever you pay back I think nearly 2k. Unless of course you're fired then you don't pay anything back. Some companies require you to sign a contract because their training is high quality and naturally they don't want people jumping ship after they finish it.

You're a L/O not a company driver you can't compare the two.Kwan23 Thanks this.
