Question to every ones who has any knowledge or informations.
What will actually happens, when you booked a load with a broker by mistake and than immediately cancel or due to unexpected problems you have cancel it to couple hours later?
Will major brokerage companies like CH Robinson, TQL, Coyote, JB Hunt or any put a bad remarks on your Carrier's file..
One broker has told me that they'll do it...
Please share what you have experience in your dealings with brokers.

I've had to do it.Over 7 years I think I've did it once no problems.I think it really comes down to your reputation how much work you've done for the broker with no problems.

If you have a legitimate reason and contact the broker in a timely manner, you should be able to work with them in resolving the cancelled load.
However, if they are a new client this could be a problem. Additionally, if your canceling because you found a better paying load that would (IMHO) not a best business practice.
There is always going to be "that" broker who is going to leave negative feedback back regardless of the situation. Which is why due diligence is crucial to your operating. -
It's all about timing. I don't think I've ever gotten angry at someone for cancelling <20 minutes after booking the load. Yes it sucks, but as the broker you don't usually have too much trouble giving it back to the customer inside that kind of time window. 2 hours it's going to matter what time of day it is. 2pm->4pm is a BIG deal and I'd be extremely unhappy. 8am->10am isn't a big deal and nobody cares. This means you should have a higher degree of certainty when taking freight in the afternoon. You have to understand that the later in the day it is the more unlikely it is that the broker/customer is going to be able to re-cover the load... Which means that a 4pm fallout really is you ####ing someone over.
EDIT: Most bigger brokerages take a longer view. You can have service failures and they won't turn you off. You can't have TONS of service failures though. If you've run 10 loads for a big brokerage and you've had to cancel 2-3 of them you're very definitely in the danger zone. Cancelling after 20 minutes isn't serious and probably won't be even go towards your stats.
Most brokerages see trucks the way I do. They are commodities that come in various quality levels. There are loads I'll give to mediocre and even crappy trucks. There are also loads where my standards are really high. Generally the better the freight the higher my standards. I don't have to compromise to get a great load covered. It's probably great because I need it to go off without any problems for some reason.Mr.Precious and LandslideRich Thank this. -
Thanks to all, it's very helpful to know about it.

I operate under the presumption I want that dam load on my flatbed deck, inside the van or whatever it is and will move heaven and earth to make that happen hours ago.
I cannot sit here and allow you to point at something so... basic and is checked off once a Professional engages in battle to get the freight.
If you did waste all of our time, YOU stand to be charged back some dollars. Ask me how I know. I know #### well there are charge applied quietly to that paystub and if you have a problem YOU take it up with them. Yea right who and what court? Or skip the legal process and get barbarian, Burn it. -
Work with a guy from CH out of the Seattle, WA branch. Never is a problem when it's here and there. But if it's something that begins to happen regularly, they start keeping track of it and use it against you.
