more air more nitrogen more NOx

Ok. But I'm still missing something here, more air=less smoke= less particulate=happy tree huggers. I guess I don't understand what NOx is.
I thought that it was the smoke or unburnt fuel that they were trying to cut down on.
And also why then would cat go to a two turbo system pressuring up the manifold to 45-50 psi to become fully 07 EPA compliant?

unburned fuel(black smoke)-PM,NOx gives the exhaust a browny color and pungent smell.
Combustion proces its a compromise ,when you fight with PM the NOx goes up and vice versa .
CAT ACERT uses double turbos and VVT to strictly control the quantity of air going in cylinders

Well I tried a 100 ohm resistor wire and did not see any improvement in milage. Actually I think the milage went down.

I talked with my boss about this harness and he said to just get one. One harness is about 30 gallons of fuel so no big deal and if it helps .1 to .2 mpg then it is worth it.

I was going to order the complete power kit but they called me back and refunded me for the boost harness since it is not compatiable with the MBN 24234 C15 motor.

I am going to try their fuel temp harness because maybe there is something different about it then just a 100 ohm resistor.

When time allows then I am going to look into the manifold pressure regulator trick to get a bit more boost out of it and then try and figure out the boost wire bypass.

I tried to talk the boss into finding a different ecm for it but he was not willing to go that route unless I could find one real cheap somewere.

    Rat,
Do you mind telling where you are getting the fuel wire, and for how much?
I ordered one off ebay from a fellow from Grove City, Ohio 09/02/08, and have yet to see it. I may have to come back and apologize, but I feel I been taken. The price was $45.00, and there were others for $65.00; naturally, I had to go the cheap route. (the shyster had his painted Cat yellow, that's what hooked me), :biggrin_25510:

150ohm instead 100? I'd be surprised if it were anything more than the resistor.

Allowing the boost pressure to come up a bit without the ecm derating will probably help out.

Has anyone come up with a number, using the stock single turbo? 40psi? Less? More?

If you want the stock turbo to last then keep it under 35psi, the bridge will de rate after 30psi so you have to put a pressure regulator behind the boost sensor. I noticed on the stock turbo 32-33psi worked fine and lowered EGTs by 200*F when i was stock with a pressure regulator, before i removed the mufflers.

hardest part about those fuel temp mods is finding the clips. besides those you can make them for practically nothing. I made a few of them until we found out they don't really do what we want.

I have a c-15 mbn and when i first start it up it misses and smokes alot. It acts like its a leaky injector but it keeps doing it until it warms up. The engine never does get totaly smooth. I did an injector cut out when it was cold and number four was nearly dead. so i replaced it and when i first started the engine it ran perfect and didnt blow any smoke. It ran like that for five minutes. I shut the engine off then restarted it about ten minuets later and it smoked and missed again. Since then i have replaced the injector wiring harness. What do u think my problem is?
