Failed BP at DOT Physical

A lot of people have "white coat syndrome". Their heart rate tends to increase when in a doctors office, and this obviously will increase the BP.
I have a BP of 120/80 normally. But when I go to get the medical done, I struggle with getting up tight in fear I'll fail.
Silly right? But real. So I take some deep breaths and start a conversation with the nurse to get my mind on something else. I will also try to put my mind in a place that I find relaxing. Stay off the caffeine and smokes the day of and have fun getting thru it. You'll do fine. Good luck.

 

One type of low blood pressure that could predict future heart problems is called orthostatic hypotension. In this type of low blood pressure, "there is a drop of 10 to 20 points of blood pressure when a person moves from a sitting or supine (flat) position to a standing position..

Seriously just go get it checked out by your doctor.. I don't have high blood pressure or heart problems.. but I had to come off the road because my fathers health.. both my father and brother have high blood pressure and heart issues.. and I will just say this... I saw both of them be completely brought down and almost die because of their heart issues..

Don't think you really want to be at a truck stop or even a shippers or receivers when you discover you have heart trouble.. and certainly not behind the wheel rolling down the highway..

Yes, there have been drivers who had heart attracts or a stroke behind the wheel.. they have been found where they pulled over, pulled the brakes and died..

Be responsible and just go see your doctor..

 

Darn it.. put the wrong info up... but those with low blood pressure take care of yourselves too..

High blood pressure is what my father has.. and he was alway ignoring it when the doctor were concerned about it..

Then one night, he got up to go to the bathroom and dropped to the floor.. fortunately I was on home time.. I hear my father fall and went to check on him.. he reached his had out to have me help him up and when I grabbed it to help him I realized this was something much worse and so did he.. he started saying how it loved me and asked me for a pillow for his head. I called 911 right away..

High blood is a condition in which the force of the blood against the artery walls is too high. My father who had ignored his high blood pressure was now on the floor in grave danger of dying... he had an aorta rupture..

My father is very very lucky to be a live.. as 98% of those who have an area rupture never make it off the floor... but my dad is a strong man and has alway been a fighter and always been tough.. but, he went down in seconds and nearly died..

Please people.. take care of yourselves.. and make sure you don't actually have a heart condition that will drop you in seconds..

If my dad had just been on heart medication he would not have had to go through that.. it was scary for him and for me.. and the hip he fellon has not been right since and causes him more pain and frustration.. but is also a constant reminder to take care of his heart and take his medicine..
