07 14l Detroit freightliner century... Been taking to Tracey road equipment of Rochester NY which is supposed to be a freightliner service/ dealer

This problem has been on going since last summer... Truck randomly shuts off and engine fan pops on with the yellow/ red dash lights... Sometimes its 1 second and sometimes the truck shuts off for 10+ seconds..

Tracey spliced/re wired the old main engine harness and no issues for 3 months..issue started again and they said you need a new harness...just put new harness in and the issue is still there. Truck may go 30 miles without issue but then it can happen 5 times in 5 minutes

Tried a test ecm last summer and issue still came up..already paid Tracey over 2k so im stuck with them but I don't feel confident they can figure this out. They had truck for 2 weeks. And numerous times past summer. It originally started with the red light flashing before the truck would shut down. Now red/yellow come together and it's after the truck starts back up
    Here's a video I took

Drove truck for 3+ hours yesterday before leaving today. Head out today and 40 miles later issue comes up.

The way its behaving, with the gauges going dead like that, I'd almost wager a guess that your ECM is losing ign power, constant power or a ground.

I'd check ALL the ground points batteries/chassis/engine. Stealerships are pretty much worthless for troubleshooting. I only use them when I know whats wrong and don't have the facilities to perform the repair.

Stealerships. Never heard that term before. I need to add it to my vocabulary!

Pittsburgh power could probably fix what ever it is. They work on the new emissions truck and even have better programs for ECM. They don't delete emissions they keep truck legal. It might be worth calling them.

A friend of mine is a mechanic for DD and I remember him talking about a road call he had a year or so ago and it sounds pretty similar to the symptoms your having now, anyway it came down to coolant leaking from a sensor into the plug and into the wire harness to the other end and it eventually made it's way to another component or ECM can't remember now, but there was no visible leak, just happened to stumble on corrosion at that component

I had a 2006 Century, lost complete engine electricity while going down the road. In mine it was the engine master relay. In the fuse compartment there are two 70 amp relays, one marked accessory, the other marked ignition I believe or main.
They are identical relays, so to test you could just swap them and see how it goes.
Don't know if it is your problem, but free to try.

Did they replace the smaller of the 2 harnesses that consist of the "engine harness"? The smaller wraps around back of engine. It is only around $50, but it is a PITA to change. Better off leaving old one in. I change more of these on a DDEC VI than the larger harness.

If they spliced the wire or any wire that has to do with the ecm, Freightliner has a specific procedure and parts to use that seal the wire the right way. I had an issue with one of the voltage feeds going into the emc being frayed because the factory didn't put a tiewrap on, so it had to be cut, cleaned and spliced. The first dealer did it, it worked for 8 months until water got into the splice and then we had all kinds of errors, the driver said it would just spit out codes like it was dying. SO off to another dealer and they replaced the harness because it was compromised. They said the other dealer did the splice wrong and he gave my driver a few printed pages to send to me about how to splice it right.

I did notice that after you hit some big bumps, That the problem started. And, why is the fan cycling. What was the oil pressure gauge doing when this happens?
