No it didn't work. When I switched it on the engine raced to governed speed and I shut it off.
That is with one wire hooked to constant 12v ????? -
As well, when I unhook my constant 12v, my fan starts up on the truck ( with wire from pin 6 and ground only hooked up.) when I switch the switch on so I'm very confused.
-
And does wire from pin 6 go to ground on switch or accessory pin?
-
You don't want to supply 12v to any of the wires. That can damage your engine ecm if it back feeds through the cruise pin 6 wire.
Your red wire from the easy jake would go to pin 6 from your jake brake switch, and the black wire from the easyjake will go to ground. You don't connect anything to 12v. Your light won't work on the easyjake.
You may want to consider getting it professionally installed. -
Ok I do appreciate your time either way. Thank you.
One more question at pin 6 on jake switch do I cut wire or tee into it? As in three wires or two hooked into ebo4a ? -
Got it working. Just took awhile to grasp.
Thanks again.Cetane+ Thanks this. -
Any ideas on what the wiring would be like on a Pete 579??
-
I have a 97 western star. Jake brake has stopped working. Yesterday I had wiring problem with a relay going bad. Fixed problem and today the jake just stopping working. Any suggestions what to do to fix.
