Kroegers in Portland was a great place to relax, and have a beer, big fireplace. Not as crazy as "Jubitz",you could enjoy yourself.Enjoyed the big fireplace, was also some of the best tire deals in the country,no sales tax.Tucumcari Truck terminal was on the west side of town on 66.Kind of got forgotten once they built the interstate through.Blue jeans, clausland, 7-UP and 1 other person Thank this.

I remember Tucumcari. It's not a BAD stop. but it is old and has a number of years.
The one thing I never cared for was the moochers (Hitch hikers) that ended up there.Blue jeans and clausland Thank this. -
The truckstop in Federal Way at 18 and 5 was a Conoco. The restaurant next to it was Geegees, and the Silver Dollar bar was in the back of the restaurant. The oriental massage parlor was downstairs, the cheapie motel was along the back lot.Brokers offices were in the building next door. Was another bar on old 99 behind the TS we would haunt, don't remember it's name.
Used to enjoy a beer at Mollys,in K Falls, too. To bad it closed, decent old place.Stopped at Fernley sometimes, they used to have a scantily clothed girls there at the truck wash.El Paso truck terminal downtown was where we would stop, take the Mexican cab across the border to Ginnys, lol.Still have their card.World famous home to truck drivers or something like that.I've carried it in my wallet so long,I can't read it anymore. This was back in the 70's.Last edited: Mar 28, 2017

Aint that the truth, for sure, there was never any shortage of strange characters hitching across the 40 out there. Who knows, maybe they were trying to escape Kali even back then....DougA Thanks this.

Yup,Burninghams TS,before they built the interstate through Salt Lake City, you had to drive by it.Also, the old 76 out at Tooele.Back in the community shower days,my friend had his pocket picked there. You learned to take a shower with your wallet in your mouth after that.
