I'm just hoping to put 5k together to get a new bike. Blew the motor in my current one and it just ain't worth fixing unless I go balls to the wall on a café build but it's such a rare bike (read unpopular) that parts are stupid hard to find. Took me a month to find a basic gasket kit. It was in Tokyo....

Cruiser. Intresting in all brands. Bigger frame for a big guy. Needs to be bigger motor. Smallest I'd look at is 750. Prefer over 1000. Everything else is negotiable

79 yamaha xs750. The 650 is the popular one. The 1000 is more popular the the 750 and 850.

    Ahh, I just sold an 80? 81? 82? xs400. It's old, I forget the other details.
My next bike won't be a project, I want something ready to ride...
Kinda leaning towards a Kawasaki Ninja 500, simply because they're dime a dozen, fast enough to kill me efficiently, and still small enough to not bankrupt me on insurance or fuel.

Wouldn't mind a project bike but I never have time to work on one.

I'm about 220#, working on losing some of it. I like both styles of bike, but the Ninjas seem to be cheap and fairly reliable. I'm not planning to buy for at least a couple years, need to buy a house first.
