Carrier

Hi
Anybody ever have a problem with a carrier APU that start but don't want to change to a/c mode -
Sounds like the ccu board.
-
I m having the same issue. Took it to carrier and was told generator is shot. So $2k to fix so that's not gonna happen right now. guess I'll be idling my truck for now
-
I call bull on that. Maybe a capacitor. Unless you're hearing scraping sounds like bearings going out, your gen is usually fine.
mhyn Thanks this. -
They said they checked all the capacitors and they were fine. Regardless I found someone who said they would try to rebuild it but it was shot. So guess I'm saving money for that. $275 just for them to diagnose and pull the unit for me. These shop rates are insane, I've spent more money trying to get this thing running than the truck this year.

I see. So lemme get this straight, is it just ac mode not working? Are you actually getting power to your GFI power? Also is this a standalone is a genx (tied into your truck coolant?) Cause if it has it's own reservoir for coolant try looking under your bunk for your engine block heater cord. See if you have power there. There's so many little things to check. I've had many pre diagnosed bad generators in the end it was always something else though. From simple 20 amp fuse that will prevent your ac kicking on to a simple press of a breaker reset.

Proheat 5000D model. It is tied into the coolant of the truck. No functions work, no power for any functions. No AC, Heat, Fan or electrical outlet work. Checked all the fuses including the one 20 amp and the glass fuse but both were good. Did undo the power wires to reset and got a under voltage warning and breaker reset. Pressed the breaker reset on the control pad and still nothing.
