This may be an awkward question for you all but here it goes and hopefully I can find an answer to it.
When I open the door to my truck both dome lights will come on no problem however when I go and push the dome lights, either the driver or passenger side, they do not illuminate.
Just to narrow down what I have checked so far... Both driver and passenger side dome lights have both bulbs. And can confirm that both bulbs in each of these lights to come on when the door is opened, either driver or passenger door. However as said when you physically push the Dome light to turn it on it will not illuminate, and that issue is true for both driver and passenger side lights.
Just in case I lost someone I am not speaking about the sleeper overhead light.

Volvos dome lights have 3 settings off-not on doesn't come on with door, on and off- comes on with door open I would say either hit switch once or twice more and try it or you may have bad dome light switches/assemblies. Check power diagram may get power/ground from two different places

Gave that a try and nothing. So I'm thinking it could be the latter of what you said. I attached a photo of what it looks like in line as mine is an older Volvo.

Been a while since I was in one that old what I said earlier only clue I have sorry hopefully someone can help

I feel I'm missing a setting somewhere. The passenger light rarely has ever been used, still has the original bulbs and a tactile click. I'm hoping it's not a bad switch assembly in both lights. I checked the fuses but didn't come up with a specific fuse other then door light

There's got to be a common ground or power source for them separate from door switches I bet is a ground issue since the door switches provide ground to the dome circuit when the doors are opened usually
