I met up with one at the Peterbilt dealer in Charlotte. He ran teams with his wife. I've seen a lot of team freight for $3 a mile on the board.

Ya that would really work

Hello all. My husband with a local company here in Jacksonville and he clears only about 899 a week. We need more money FAST. We're really interested in Landstar. My husband is willing to work hard but we're nervous we'll not be able to make a truck lease payment , all the expenses that come with being a owner op and of course pay all our bills. I read somewhere that if you just use Landstar board just to get loads , you'll go broke. Some advise would be appreciated.

Figure out what your truck payment will be as well as OP costs like insurance, workers comp, Bobtail, fuel cost, tire costs, maintenance costs, etc. Landstar can take 1 to 3 months to get hired on. Never be afraid to call Landstar or any one for that matter and ask.

Is your husband pulling for one of the container companies in Jacksonville? I agree with @secorp. Landstar's hiring process isn't a speedy one but if you decide to submit an application, try to submit your documents as quickly as possible. Also, have the recruiter send you a link to the schedule a Landstar loadboard webinar.
