Police: Man Caught In Pursuit Is Officer

FOLSOM, Calif. -- A motorcyclist, who turned out to be a Citrus Heights police officer, ran over the foot of a Folsom officer as police attempted to apprehend him during a high-speed pursuit, officials with the Folsom Police Department said.

Police officers attempted to stop James Fraser, 27, for excessive speed and a red-light violation in the area of East Natoma Street and Blue Ravine Road at about 2:30 a.m on Saturday.

Fraser allegedly failed to stop and obey officers and fled the scene, which started a high-speed pursuit, police said.During the chase, Fraser, was involved in several minor collisions.

In one collision, Fraser allegedly hit the passenger side of a police vehicle and drove over the foot of an officer.

"The pursuit was in speeds over 100 mph, it lasted 32 minutes and covered approximately 41 miles of roadway between Folsom and El Dorado," said Michelle Betty of the Folsom Police Department.

Maybe he thought that since he knew the tricks of the trade (high speed chase) he could get away??

Just proves to me more what I have already said..... Police are getting out of control, they have the attitude they are above the law.. They believe that they don't have to follow the law nor do they have to during an arrest.. Not all of coarse... It is stating to become a serious problem though...

Make me wonder how someone like that got on the force. I thought psychiatric evaluations are suppose to weed people like that out.
