Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Ah, Mr. Mule, dude. Listen, what you don't understand is when you become a trucker, you are married to the truck. You wake up with your new sweetheart every day and drive her all day long and, of course, sleep with her everynight. You tend to her every ache immediately to keep her from stranding you high and dry. Your home is just a memory that you may see occasionally. Your "Ex" is now just a lady you visit with every so often. You have now committed your heart/soul to this 18000 lb beast. :smt008:smt049

this may be true for some but not for all. i have been driving sinse 1992 and yes i have did my fair share of being gone long periods of time but. i wont stay gone longer than a week anymore.life is too short to not enjoy your family when you can.thats why i wont stay out no 2 to 4 weeks at a time. there is pleanty of jobs where you can get home on weekends i am sure i just havnt found the right one for me as of yet. so till i do i guess i will stay doing what i am doing now home 2 to 5 hours a day for .31 a mile
