One thing i noticed, afew months ago at Chrysler, Mexican drivers started showing up out of Laredo. The receivers at Chrysler couldn't understand them. The receivers claimed they had them thrown out because of the language barrier, not sure if that was true but i never saw another bring a load up from there.

A friend of mine was recently in Mexico on bussiness and he got talking to a friend of his over there, he happens to be some type of logistics guru for a large company, he says not allot of mexican companies are even ambitious to come over, I guess he said there is too much red tape and way too expensive for most of them for it even to be worth it, I really don't know, but that is how he explained it to me..

I'd have 2 say we truckers are powerless 2 stop the Mexicans from coming over the border. They can haul the freight cheaper, & we've gone into a global market economy where we're suppose 2 compete with foreign manufacturers nowadays. Not the 1st time the govt sold the American people out.
In 1986, they passed the Immigration Reform Control Act to supposedly stop the practice of hiring illegals. The law was just the opposite; it contained loopholes to give employers immunity from criminal prosecution for hiring illegals. Job applicants are required to furnish documents to prove their right to work in the US; but it DID NOT require employers to verify / authenticate these. This means FAKE social security cards, FAKE birth certificates, and FAKE identification cards are allowable forms of documents. So long as employers have these on file, they CAN NOT be prosecuted for hiring illegals.
Now its NAFTA to haul the freight cheaper than what it would cost for an American trucker to do the job. The only other option, is to bring back the Teamsters, and to truckers, that's as controversial as gay rights and abortion. Personally, I feel we should bring back the Teamsters; but most of these other guys would rather see the Mexicans take over than to go union. On the bright side, I'm glad I'm an hourly-paid local driver. Although the Latino-Hispanic truckers are a considerable force in California, where I work at. Here in CA, the state DMV accepts fake social security cards and fake birth certificates from CDL applicants. I know this because an illegal I had hired regularly to cut my grass now drives a semi truck. I thought it was odd he asked me if he could ride along, just to see what trucking is like. He spoke very little English, but I felt sorry 4 him cause he had 7 kids to feed. -
I guess it will have to be done state by state by the people standing up. We will see what happens here in AZ. I just can't believe that nothing can be done. I am less certain about CA. It almost seems to be a lost cause.

It's not Gov. that makes the rules - Corporate, Military & Hollywood remember ?
It's our own greedy CEOs and Execs. not for the Need of more profit but for the WANT
of increasing profits periodically when there is nothing more to squeeze.
Not enough, not even minimal, organization among truckers; too many truckers worried of
losing their jobs; too many ignorant truckers and a high level of immigrant truckers; that's
what's stopping us from blocking the nation's highways for a month or more.
