6nz 650 hp platinum rebuild 2012 by cat. new water pump, oil cooler, turbo, ac, drums, brakes. 262 ratio, 11r 22.5's, 221" wheelbase.
-
Great truck, great engine, great highway gear ratio, no emissions crap to deal with.
Sounds like a great decision

Would love to feel that 650 horse lol

Never heard of a 2.62 rear gear ratio. Must be rockwell rear ends or something. But does siund like a good rig.

A 379 with a 221 inch wheel base? Must be a day cab.

I have a very similar set up but with a Detroit and 2:64, low pro 22.5's. I run in 16 which is direct when running 64 or less about 1550 rpm at 64. 17 which is single overdrive up to 75. Need to use 18 very seldom. It works great for me. I have heard some say it's too tall for starting out with a heavy load, but I start in low when loaded and don't need to split any gears on the low side and it works fine.

that's the info I was given. haven't measured anything or looked at rears. but it does have a 63" unibuilt sleeper on it.
-
While i obviously i don't break out a tape measure on every 379 i see, it would be very rare to find one that short with a sleeper that size. Even the 240s I've seen are to short, not enough room between the front drive axle and tank to mount a small step box to get up to the cat walk. So my search has gotten narrowed to 260+. Good thing I'm in no hurry.
