IIRC, it makes noise when you leave the lane, and automatically applies the brakes upon getting too close to a vehicle in front of you.

What Mack said. There are several systems but they all do essentially the same thing. Not too familiar with how they operate, but I thought I read somewhere it does it's thing only when cruise is set. I could be wrong. I'd hate to be on slick roads and it throw on the brakes for "reasons."

Uh-huh! I'd have a hard time with getting used to that! I have to wonder just how long a time it will be, before it's discovered that the auto breaking is going to cause more crashes than it prevents.

Except they don't cost anything. They get installed for free, and then they get big savings in their insurance. The company actually saves money by having them.

We have them. No one monitors them. They go off all day long and no one gets called in to discuss the infractions. Heck, I've set the thing off while on the phone totally complaining about something the boss did and never heard a word.

But if there's an incident, they can pull it up and hopefully cover their butts. So the ins company gives them big discounts

and that's what I don't have a problem with one bit. If they're using for use in accident situations only and not baby sitting us and calling us out all the time for every little thing, I have no problem with the camera. But like I said in a earlier post, that's not how my last job was. They called us in all the time for stupid crap.

Dude, I'm against the cameras 100%! I give it to them every chance I get about those things. HATE THEM! Nothing more than a loaded gun pointing at your face.

I was only commenting on the fact that there's no expense in installing them. Zero

Last driver meeting they said we'll eventually have outward facing, but avoid driver facing unless mandated by insurance

Yeah, I heard that. What I'm more worried about is that "Wingman" deal. Have they decided anything about that?
