Over ten years and you are good. I tried to find the number for the immigration dept that deals with this but was unable.

Hey I know somebody already answered this but this thread has to many pages to search.
1) working out of the lakeland terminal, how much hometime?
2) what do u avg a week $$$
3)type of tractor, transmission, speed of truck?
thanks for the info? -
1)Not sure about lakeland but the general policy is to dispatch you towards your home terminal. The longest I have stayed out is 2 weeks. That was by choice. I have been home most weekends.
2) around $1000 gross per week average
3) I have an older truck. Freightliner 10 speed with a rebuilt engine and 680K miles. It runs 68 cruise 72 in the peddle. Most of the fleet are Internationals. They have a few Volvos. -
It's a Superior and Carry transit terminal.
Carry is Superiors sister company that does food grade.
People there are real nice and will be happy to help you out.

Hey Kurbski
Im guessing that you work for carry/superior?
What kind of operation do they run, do you run mostly FL?
Do they take good care of you?
Thanks for the info, i would rather hear more about the company from a driver instead of a recruiter that BS alot of time. -
I don't work for them and posted the terminals phone number that I called to get some info. But it was removed because you can't post phone numbers for some reason. I applied with Carry and the terminal managers were more than helpfull, available and returned phone calls better than most that I have contacted. Just my opinion, that's all. With the economic downturn, it's not the right time for me to retire and get into this line of work right now. There certainly are alot of opportunities in the Lakeland / Bartow area. Highway Transport is another company to contact in Lakeland, but you have to call the Knoxville terminal to submit an application. BOL.

3rd week in a row with less than a 1000-miles. Help!
-
Ouch. That sucks. Have you been out in the system getting that?
I only got 1 run this week but it was a dedicated out and back 1800 miles. The week before I was in the system around 2000. Week before that was even better with that NY City run. -
I always run the system. The "system" ain't working so well - maybe needs a tweak, maybe needs a hammer.
For some reason they keep hiring drivers (fresh meat, right out of school). I got orientation scheduled with Crete for next month. Hopefully thinks pick up so I don't have to go.

Can't blame you there. Haven't seen the hiring at my terminal. I am the only extended training driver. Since me they have added maybe 3 guys all with experience in the past 10 months. At least one guy has left but that could be more. Sounds like they need to send you farther away to start with into the system. Those had to be 2,3 ,400 mile loads then routed right back home. That is the worse scenario possible. At least if they make you sit away from home you can get layover pay. Good luck
