That actually would be relatively easy. Just replace those electric sensor driven gauges with real gauges. Same with the speedo and tach. Then drill a hole in the firewall for the throttle rod.
Elogs for 1 or 2 truck operations...

It is a bit rounded, but on some weeks gets close, haven't saved a penny, got in the business with cash for a truck and a cheap trailer, trailer was cheap enough that I had to scrap it in 3 months, the truck keep eating all hard earnings. Now I got a lot of overhead, I'm paying for trailer rent, some dead from wonderful "forever young " times, plus I have to support my family.dirthaller Thanks this.

In my 389, that would require alot of wiring.
-
I've been told, by a few glider builders, that an electronic 40 pin Cat would be hard to install and work properly in a 2006 or newer chassis.
-
A little wiring yes...a lot? No. Pop out those electric gauges and run real ones..example oil pressure gauge is nothing but a 1/4 oil line from block to gauge. Amp meter gauge:2 small wires from alternator to gauge. Etc etc.
-
Thats not a mechanical engine. A mechanical engine has no ecm.
-
Point is, it takes at least a 70 pin ecm to keep the dash functions from going beserk. Have you driven a 2006 or newer truck? Alot of electronic communication between cab/chassis and ECM.

Speedometer, odometer, hour meter, Pyro meter, oil pressure, oil temperature, manifold pressure, etc. If all were isolated from factory wiring, you'd still be dealing with alot of other hiccups.snowman_w900 Thanks this.

My friend just got a new glider built and the title says 2017 on it. Even though the engine is a 98.snowman_w900 Thanks this.

The place that I used to work at had an old autocar that is now a w900. It did have to get a new title. Pulls the 9 axle every day.Oxbow and snowman_w900 Thank this.
