I was just riding along with the cruise on my 62 MPH truck set & coming up on the eastbound "1 mile to scale" sign at Wentzville this week when I about lost the nose on my tractor. A bullhauler had to pass just before the scale & then did a slide job on my hood. Once in the right lane, he then brake checked me big time & then dove off the ramp towards the T/A just before the scales. All within a mile from the scales.

I keyed up the radio & made my displeasure known only to find out from him that I was the one in the wrong. <sigh>

Some drivers can do the dumbest things & will never admit fault.

I stopped counting the times I've jumped on the radio to suggest other truckers come back and try again - they missed the paint.

It just chapps my hide when they do that - *especially* when we're the only two vehicles within a mile, so it's not like he's being crowded over by some other driver.

Well, I never gave it much thought to be honest. I would suppose a biker would have a much better chance of just cranking off the side of whatever it is than smashing into that guard rail - as long as "whatever it is" isn't a 500 foot drop!! I saw the aftermath of a biker that was going 140 MPH on open country roadway - he came to a turn in the road and totally messed up. They had actual pictures of this guy - all 7 pieces of him including the head which had been cut off at the neck. Torso had been cut in half, legs and arms were all severed - pretty ugly stuff.

Yes, they put his head on life support, stuck tubes and needles and all kinds of junk up through where his neck used to be, and now it's just like that movie Mars Attacks with the guy with the little head running around on the dog with the big body.
Oh, take that back, they actually had a live head on that movie - sans the tubes!

Not only does danger lie in not being able to stop when tailgating, it's an excellent way to rear end a broken down vehicle that could be on the shoulder. Seen the aftermath of it a few times.

Lurch plays Slim Whitman at Shocky, just in case.

For me, though, the .. embodiment of bad movies in this regard has to be "The Brain that Wouldn't Die"
