Hi guys I bought a truck from Ryder 2 weeks ago. I just got it on the road and have ran about 300 miles with it. I noticed in reverse under a load the truck is really jumpy. So I figured I would get under and take a peak at things and I found a missing plate. I'm not super mechanically inclined but I can get my way around some. I know I need to get a plate to replace it but what kind of damage could have been done from it being missing and does anyone know what it is called. Thanks for your help guys

I doubt a clutch inspection cover missing would cause anything to become damaged.

Thank you I figured it was something along the lines of a inspection cover. I'll be stopping tomorrow at Ryder to see if the will cover the cost under warranty

Call your salesman and tell them it is missing, let him come up with it, it should be there.

Next time inspect a truck before purchasing. Obviously you didn't even take a cursory look at it or you would have saw the inspection covert was not on.

Ny state truck for you. During the initial inspection the cover was on so I am guessing they inspected it and never put it back on. I will definitely make sure I go through everything right before I pull another truck off the lot.

Geez every truck ive ever owned for last 30 years i took that plate off.never an issue.
You dont need it nor is it going to hurt anything with it off.

I like to see in there when im greasing or setting up my clutch. Not a big deal really

And yes thats got to be the most rust ive ever seen on a trans. Lol
