Alright I haven't been on these forums in a year and wasn't going to comment here but since I got called out I figured I would clarify a few things. As far as the outer hubs go I honestly can't remember if they existed or when I commented on this topic. I think they either just started them or they were in the process of setting them up but I honestly can't remember in regards to the outer hubs. However the Bethlehem terminal has existed for years before I worked at JB Hunt and I've been here for 4.5 years now and the Baltimore one has existed for a few years now.

As far as pay goes I made 64K last year working on average mid 50 hours per week. There are a few guys at the terminal who actually pull just north of 80k but they work 6 days a week putting in 70 hours a week. If you want to talk to the managers they can pull up your driver board and see where you rank in regards to pay compared to others on your board. I checked that once months ago and I'm like 6th on my board. As far as average hourly pay it's around $23 an hour for me sometimes more on a good day and sometimes less...however unless I get held up for hours in an accident I average out over $20.00 an hour per day.

As far as heavy rail delay goes yes it can be a ##### when you do run into it. For example I do everything possible I can to make sure I'm not at H! from 2300 to 0200 because that's usually when the nightly train arrives. The majority of the time I don't get stuck behind the train however sometimes I do. That is part of the job unfortunately. Also you say you start at 0800 which means you work days which I use to work days myself when I was first hired at JB starting at 1000 but now I switched to nights starting at 1600 so the traffic volume I deal with outside of rush hour at the beginning of my shift is way less than what you deal with. The people who make the most at our terminal start in the afternoon, evening or night...they aren't morning drivers.

As far as upping the pay goes at JB Hunt goes...look man I started there back in October of 2012. The pay scale when I first started there was originally $.34 a mile starting pay (there was no weekend bonus pay), $15 hourly pay (detention, breakdown, delay, it didn't matter), $21 drop and hook, $41 for a live, chassis and empty move $10 and tonu was just $10.

The current pay scale as of right now is $.36 per mile starting pay with it capping at $.46 per mile, if you work weekends mileage pay starts at $.39 per mile and caps out at $.49 per mile, $17 hourly pay except for 2nd hour of detention, $25.50 for second of detention and every hour after that, $28 drop and hook, $46 for a live, chassis and empty moves are still $10, tonu is $28, we now get paid detention if having to go to a second location looking for empties which is something we use to not get paid for, we also get extra pay for reefers which you might do once a year is like an extra $15 for the load and if you have to fill a reefer that is $13 for that but you might get one of those loads once a year if that. Oh yeah we also get six paid holidays which we didn't get when I first started working at JB Hunt.

So being honest man JB Hunt in a little over 4 years has significantly upped the pay we get. So I can't be to horribly mad at them about the pay.

While I agree with you that we should make more...our mileage pay should be starting out at $.40 per mile and maxing out at $.50 per mile for non weekend drivers with bonus $.04 per mile if your work both Saturday and Sunday and if you only work one Weekend day either Saturday or Sunday getting just $.02 per mile to split the difference, and drop and hooks should be $30 and lives $50. That should be done to help close the gap between us an LTL. However JB Hunt has definitely done a lot in regards to pay raises.

That's also the reason why we aren't getting 14 hour days put on us during the weekends like we use to when I first started because JB is having less turnover then they use to have...plus the outer hubs. Still I'm doing between $1,200 to just under $1,400 gross and I'm working less hours than I use to. So the pay has gone up and I'm working less compared to what I was doing when I first started at JB Hunt and I'm looking to do mid 60 to high 60k this year working mid to low 50 hour weeks on average...so I can't complain to much. I agree with you that sometimes I would like another run but they don't have anything. I'm noticing that on Saturday's which you used to be my busiest day of the week so I do agree with you that it's slower than it has been in the past.

Now with all that said I've been str8 up on here. However being str8 up also means I got to say when JB Hunt does something good and not just when they do something bad.
