Watchit in chicagoland ..they're crazy !

My company and main terminal is in Marinette, WI so I wind up crossing Chicago regularly to run freight or even deliver in Chicago. It's getting old.

 

Chicago is a necessary evil if you truck in the midwest. Lot of stuff goes thru the Windy. Can't get around it. Living in Wisconsin, just about every one of my many trucking jobs, involved Chicago in some way or another ( One job, I had 10 stops and pickups a day in Chicago) It's always been nuts. Don't get me wrong, lot of good people in Chicago, go out of their way for you (if you're nice), it seems, of you're pissed off, you run into all the other pissed off people. This kind of thing, though, tells me we got trouble, and I worry about my fellow drivers that might get caught up in that. Just doing their job. Being retired, I couldn't imagine doing it today, but I know many don't have a choice, just like me not too long ago. Please be watchful of your surroundings and what's going on. ( I've had my wagon broke into at stoplights already)These people are hungry and desperate. They aren't stupid, a running reefer means food, and again, they have little to lose.

 

I watched a 4 wheeler ride past me,get along side another 4 wheeler and riddled it in a hail of gun fire.
This was on the sky way bridge at about 8 in the morning.
I suppose it killed the 2 guys in the one car...It rode the jersey wall and came to a stop with both people slumped over.Doors and windows shot full of holes...

Knowing I was a witness I kept an eye out for the black Acura that did the shooting.
I thought they may wait for me to pass and sneak up behind me....

I was locked and loaded with 16 rounds in the clip and my spare clip on the seat.....CRAZY Place!

 

WOW!!! ( what you doin' on the Skyway, money bags, company driver?) I asked a boss once if I could take the Skyway, he laughed, and said, sure, you're payin'. I sat in the "spaghetti bowl" like everyone else.

 

I'm in Chicago a lot and the only time I start to feel safe is when I see the city disappearing in my mirror! That city is a perfect example of how gun control doesn't work, the bad guys are the ones that own the guns!

 

Ya for safety of the public. My dash cam would have recorded them cutting me off and braking intentionally then recorded me driving thru there explorer and stopping mile down the road. Also would have definitely mentioned them pointing a gun at me before they did. I'm at that point with these lunatic low life's.

 

Did you get the plate number and call the cops?

 

Yep! Was in a company truck at the time and traffic was a mess that time of the morning....Hit the Sky way and outta there!
Did not expect to see a shooting that is for sure!

Have not been back up there since....The closest I get is Indy now.
