What Is The process of leasing a driver under your MC Number

    2. What paperwork do you need to give the person leasing onto your MC Number?

    3. What are the best suggestions for IFTA, Plates, Tags for person leasing onto your MC Number?

    First, make sure that the lease conforms with legal requirements. A friend of mine and I leased our trucks to a carrier. He had to show the lease at a POE in Oklahoma, and it didn't conform. The carrier had to fill out a new one and fax it to him.

    Two, file your UCR, or update it showing a new truck. I believe that you don't have to identify the individual power units, just how many you have.

    It is best for an owner/operator to run under his or her own plates and ifta, but that is a personal preference.
