Made my drops in Ochelata, OK and Pryor, OK yesterday. 1 1/4 hrs detention each...
Drove on down to Roland OK to stage for my reload today at 2200.
Made a call on the way to the shipper to see if I could get loaded a bit earlier. They said they have an 0830 appt if I wanted it!
    Hell to the yes!
Van Buren, AR to Tualatin, OR.
Sitting in the door now waiting to get loaded.....
    Sweet!

This shipper in van Buren AR. Is one of those places where you leave your doors closed and the open from the inside.
I checked into shipping and they gave me instructions to throw 2 loadlocks into the trailer and back into door 10. I shut the door tails, put the loadlocks in and drove over to door 10 There was a truck in door 9. Door 11 was open.
As I set up and started to back in the driver from the A&A Express truck got out and hustled over to my window.
My thought was... this is an easy back... why the urge to spot me....
Then he told me that when I set up, one of my door tails OPENED and he saved me from putting it through the dock door.

WATCH THOSE TAILS!!! Some of those latches suck!!!

So glad I had a conscience driver next to me that was looking out for another driver instead of some dick with his cellphone out making a video for his Facebook or YouTube page....

Edit: and yes.... I got his truck number and called his safety office to share How thankful I was that that driver did that. The safety guy, Mike, was going to call the guy up. He deserves a pat on the back, no doubt.

Had a driver do something of the sort to me once. Tell Nick. She won't get home so fast next time.

I had that happen to me at SuperValue in Hopkins. I came out of the receiving office and shut my trailer tails. I drove around to the drop lot and backed into a parking spot. Just as I was pulling away, a spotter pulled up & told me I just smashed the trailer tail into another trailer. Sure enough, one of the tails had come open. Now I always pull on them after closing to make sure they're latched well.

I hate those things, and I just cannot imagine they save enough to pay for themselves!
