This was the video that I recall comparing two HP 7.62x39 rounds. Z-max lost 15 gr but still performed much better than Tul. Bottom line is, as mentioned previously, not all HP rounds are created equal.
Is it illegal to carry a gun in a commercial vehicle?

A 9mm isn't anywhere close to a 7.62x39. and no I didn't see much splintering, I seen mushrooming

The Z-max round lost 14% of it's weight. The Tul-Ammo round lost 81% so yes the Hornady round is way better than I remembered. I must have been thinking about the Tul-Ammo round, but the fact remains that a HP does not guarantee expansion and they can fragment too.spyder7723 Thanks this.

If a state doesn't recognize your state permit what then? Is that when you store handgun in box and place behind seat? before you cross into that state? Trying to understand that gun law website.

You Americans are allowed to carry shotguns everywhere am I right? Why not just carry a shotgun in the bunk and be done with all the hassle?

Most states have laws against guns in vehicles without a permit. And allot of companies take issue with that as well. Me personally, I wouldn't want to use a shotgun for self defense in a small enclosed space such as a car or truck. Easy way to cause some serious hearing lossrank Thanks this.

As if a 9mm, 45, or even my pocket 380 auto are quiet. If you fire anything bigger than a 22 inside a truck toy will suffer damage to your ears. But id rather have hearing issues and be alive than good hearing and dead.rank Thanks this.

A shotgun is fine. Just cant be loaded in many states while traveling. In the few states that don't honor my Florida cc i simply unload it and stick the mag in a zippered bag and the gin I another. That's for states I'm simply traveling through. For states i will be stopping in ill put the bags in separate side boxes.rank Thanks this.
