Pretty hefty speeds bud,I have to ask what's the hurry? Those 2 reckless tickets is what companies will look at the most. One ticket is bad enough but 2 ?????I don't know just have to look and apply and hope their insurance shows mercy and gives you a chance.

There are other things to consider... right now, unemployment is low.. lowest it has been in a long time...
when unemployment is low, people can find jobs in industries besides trucking and so less people consider getting into trucking an a option and opportunity for employment.
That is of great benefit to those who want to enter the trucking industry and have less than stellar resumes.. such as tickets, criminal record, poor work history.
Before it is brought up.. yes, the big bad insurance companies that tell the poor hiring manager NO when he his working so hard to get you hired... will some how have a change of heart when the companies need for drivers necessitates.... they will charge hire rates..
Was browsing over some reports this morning and truck driving applicants are down... meaning less people are applying for a truck driving job...
That will work in your favor... also, if you have the money, you could try and get one of the speeding tickets off your record... yes, you can, with money and jumping through the right hoops clean up your MVRTjames90 Thanks this. -

The only ticket I have is a seatbelt ticket and I WAS wearing it at the time.
I was in South Florida, went through an intersection in the center lane. There were 4 or 5 cops standing on the opposite corner. Passed them and about 1/4 mile later get pulled over.
I was told I didn't have a seatbelt on when I passed the intersection.
In fact I did have a seatbelt on. It was almost exactly the same color as my shirt and blended in.
I pointed this out to the cop and his response to me was, "Your welcome to come to court and TRY TO PROVE to the judge that you had your belt on".
Sure, I'm going to drive 250 miles, sit in your courtroom all day and "TRY TO PROVE" to a judge that #1 I had my belt on and #2 YOU THE COP did not see my seatbelt because it was the same color as my shirt... Good luck with that.
Yeah, I just paid it and moved on. Really, what other choice did I have? To bad I didn't have one of those dash cams that also records the driver..
Good luck to the OP. Those tickets are going to hurt but probably not be job killing fatal. Only good thing is that eventually they will fall off.Tjames90 and BigTennOTR Thank this. -
Police count on people to just pay the ticket and move along though, and most do because they can't afford to take time off work to show up and then on top of that you are charged court costs and the word of a citizen under oath means jack compared to an officers so unless you have definitive proof usual you won't win even if the officer doesn't have any proof other than "I seent it your honor" -

Was on our way to a car show and had an officer tell me that I had to have legal seat belts installed... when I told him that was not true and would diminish the value of the classic car.. he said it was the law and the value of the car didn't matter... fortunately the judges knew that classic ars registerd as show cars do not have to install new seat belts..
There was a time when people were aloud to make the choice for themselves as to wear seat belts or not.. -
Actually you are both correct.. In pretty much all jurisdictions there is language that says you must use/wear whatever retention system was installed in the vehicle "AT THE TIME OF MANUFACTURER". The LEO that pulled you over was correct in that you have to have legal belts installed. YOU were correct in that AT THE TIME OF MANUFACTURER what you had installed was the legal installation.
You continue to be correct in that if you were to install, or attempt to install, a shoulder belt it would degrade the value of your car and further and more importantly, since they were not factory installed there are no provisions for you to properly install a shoulder belt. You have no mechanical engineering degree and no way to insure that any shoulder belt you would install would not only be effective (mounting point not just rip out) and not actually be dangerous in case of crash. What if the angle was wrong and actually caused you more harm than if it had not been there at all? Your not a vehicle designer and have no experience in proper and safe seatbelt design and installation.
If you still have and drive that vehicle I would suggest that you go on the internet and print out the part of the part of state statute that talks about mandatory seatbelt use, find and highlight the section that talks about using the belts as "originally installed at the factory" and carry it in the vehicle. Be polite. Don't be a jerk. If needed respectfully ask the LEO to have his supervisor respond to the scene. I'm pretty sure that the supervisor will handle the situation properly.
Actually, that part of the statue is pretty well known. I'm surprised that once you point out your using the factory installed equipment that the conversation goes any further.
