OK, but still, why 4 times the weight on the rear drive axle? Shouldn't they be pretty close to even? Unless it's a huge spread between axles, and even still, there should be a lot more on that front drive.

Spot on. That cop could have really put the screws to him by not only giving him a 7k lb overweight ticket, but also ticketed and placed him out of service for exceeding the rating of the axle(and likely the tires). Fib you got lucky.77fib77 Thanks this. -

you have to watch the kingpin depth too, we had a bunch of MC307's specked for day cabs but used by heavier sleepers. The pins were set back with a spacer plate in front. One of the guys paid to have one swapped around and cured the over weight problem.
The guy who did the purchasing in corporate didn't have a clue that the trucks using the trailers he purchased were around 4- 5, 000 pounds heavier...77fib77 and ChicagoJohn Thank this.
