sand experience? please explain

Sand haulers usually look like my avatar photo, lol.

 

Oklahoma has some oil field driver jobs that require PPE overalls, helmets, glasses, boots, gloves, but doesn't tell you what driver position you will have and DOT physical and drug test paid for by drivers not company. With all the PPE involved sounds like high-quality portable toilets transport more then oil field.

 

It seems all areas have plenty of applicants and employees for the current workload. That's what happened in North Dakota. I always knew once they moved enough people up there wages would drop either way boom or no boom. It's just an industry now.

 

Around PA you can make more picking up cans along the road than hauling sand. And I think the water haulers are considered the bottom of the barrel around here.

 

They are. Doing sand in Pennsylvania is horrible now. Almost no demurrage so they take their sweet time because your time cost them nothing. Two to three loads a day at best and that takes 14 - 16 hours. Sitting Waiting I know. The water haulers in Pennsylvania don't make much but they do seem to stay busy but most of the places they're seen the pay between 17 and 20 an hour. But they probably are only working 50 hours a week or so.

 

Just last year I was making 3000 week hauling water in North Dakota but it was not pleasant, living in the truck and running 18 plus hours a day. We used to make that running 12 hours a day during the Boom. Tried hauling crude again and that was crap too.

 

Get on a frac crew. Not high hourly wage but they are at least getting hours.

 

In Texas the water guys would run like crazy for a week or two then they would be slow for a week. When i ran sand i could stay busy nearly week after week. I would never sit more than a day and a half. I might have been lucky to work for some half way decent outfits.

 

That's Texas. I never worked there. When I looked years ago they were only offering paying 16-17 an hour in Texas. I worked in ND.

 

I'm a sand hauler in west Texas and I love my job. I make a consistent 1500/ week with full benefits and I drive a 2015 platinum edition Peterbilt. I'm pretty fit and look nothing like that ###### in this guys avatar picture. There's negative people everywhere you go.
