You should be able to deduct travel expenses for stuff like that. Gas, hotel, and so on.

More of an ulcer than I need. I don't even save receipts. The motivation erodes.

Just an idea, if you can get on Estes extraboard you don't need a place to crash. A lot of our extra drivers just crash in hotels and keep their stuff in a storage unit. Estes pays for the hotel and you can maximize your income and run hard.

I know a few guys that see no use to keep a place when Estes covers our hotel rooms including 34hr resets. I was just throwing it out there. I do pretty well and I go home every weekend, if I didn't go home I'd be crushing it out there.

Ten years ago; never know til ya try..... Didn't know you've been driving that long.... that should REALLY be a plus, IMHO.

If I didn't have this excellent gig driving for the O/O with a super small fleet of Etnyres, I'd try for linehaul again. Man, if you COULD get into that world, the money is about what I make on my "specialized/local" gig. Heck, they probably exceed me with the slow winters moving asphalt and my hating the alternative...ie: open deck... I usually just take my earned snow days, LoL. You are 1/2 my age, ... opportunities should be imminent ... just keep on keeping on~!

That's pretty much what I'm doing. But at the same time, I actually do like regular time off after a 3-5 day work week. Another company that contacted me after I submitted an app was Vistar/Performance Food Group in, Denver again. Despite its location, the three night work schedule quoted to me sounded worth the CA-wannabe's torture. I'm giving all of this some thought while I try not to screw up these mill tanks tonight. Loading instead of plain shuttling thanks to a call off. It's getting old.

PFC/vistar doesn't pay squat. When running MBM, met a PFC guy and he was telling me "oh, we get a minimum of $900 for a 6 day week. I"m thinking wait, I'm making almost $900 for this 2.5 day run. . If you're going to do food service, at least get paid for it. McLane/MBM, Sysco, Shamrock Foods (in denver rapidly expanding if you want to work nights to do chains, big money).

    FXG is always hiring.
