I don't think it's arrogant. I'm just not sure if it's worth the hustle. I taught my wife how to do it . She is a housewife anyways . It's a lot easier and my numbers are up . From January 13 to march 31 this year she got me 2.47 cpm ttt including deadhead on ~24k miles . I'm pulling 48 flat . Home every weekends . Would you call it a fair rate ?

 

Yep nothing wrong with those numbers. It's one thing having your wife dispatch you. Her interests are in line with yours. Having a complete stranger do it is another thing altogether. Craziness imo.

But I don't have any problems doing it and don't view it as too difficult to pull off. For me it is the absolute best part of the job and I actually enjoy it a lot. If I'm not challenged I get bored. You just have to apply yourself the same as any kid in school trying to stay in honors classes or an athlete trying to stay on top of their game. After a while things get much easier for you and you get more efficient.

When it's busy like now I probably spend about 10 minutes a day looking, or taking calls and booking. I don't spend a whole lot more when it's slow either.

 

2.47 is good. dry van is a lot tougher. i did reefer for years,i had to take a break from being treated like pond scum everywhere i went to deliver.

i too am fully independent and find all my own freight and do m,y own paperwork. i typically have the whole next week set up the week prior from the house,not too much done from the cab.
