I have applied to Walmart and have passed my phone interview. Just need to wait until the DC calls to set up my second interview and pre trip, road test. I've been reading in the forum about this. Everything I've read says the pre trip is very very important. My questions are, can I use a pre trip check list? Or do I need to do it by memory only? Is it DOT in depth or does Walmart have their own standard? Are they looking for anything in particular? Thanks for any input.

You can not use a check list your self. Just do it off memory . And walmart has their own check list the guy will be carrying with him. Once you say whats on the list he will mark it off.

If say use a check list if you have to. Its not a test for your license but if he asks just say you use it all the time to make sure you check everything to be safe. I don't think they would be mad at that. But I also wouldn't just use three paper

No on the check list current Walmart driver you'll be fine, triangles extinguisher Dvi and permit books are what some miss on. Check fuel coolant oil belts tread depth and inflation of tires brakes airlines trailer registration. You don't have to name every part just touch. Say nothing loose missing leaking. Test like you did for your CFL

On a Walmart drive test, double-clutching or float the gears? Or will it vary at different DC's? Thanks

I've passed my phone interview as well. Waiting on a call from the Seymour, IN DC. My current company only uses automatics, so it's been a year or so since I even had to shift. I look forward to using a manual, but hopefully the guy grading me will have mercy if I grind a gear or two. :)

When doing the pre trip, do they want you to pre trip the tractor by its self then hook up and do the trailer?Or hook up and do the hole thing at once?

A professional will know how to do a proper pretrip. If you have to ask, you're probably not ready to drive here and will most likely bring bad habits that our drive cams will be correcting you on.
