I bet you have more than you are saying invested in Classic. They are a low paying crap company that I would not even urinate on. Sadly like so many they demand so much of professional drivers and offer low pay in exchange with crap benefits. If they truly recognized why they can even exist in the first place....the drivers would come first instead of their high salaries and the owner(s) pocketing millions.

And I don't doubt any of that. And I agree the pay is low. And only drivers with senority get decent trucks from what I've seen. My problem was the comment that they put you up in a flea bag motel. The Patriot Thanks this.

Does your family own the motel in question
-
Nope. I have no family in Ohio. But I stayed at that motel, and I can tell you it's a #### sight better than most I've stayed in over the years. Impeccably clean, well organized, American owned, and operated, with an outstanding restaurant. A place truly worthy of an OTR trucker. Classic Carriers would've probably opted to put us in a flea bag motel, but had no choice but to use that one. It's the only motel in Versailles.

Their recruitment ad right now is boasting .55-.60 cpm.

So i would have to ask what is there pay, what are thier benifits, what are the "high saleries" they make and what flea bag motel do they put you in?-- You post a lot of opnions but you have no facts to back them up. So lets give some facts:
1. I do work for Classic and have for almost 5 years now so i do know the facts to what they offer.
2. There drivers average around 55-60 CPM if they are willing to work 5.5 days a week. Now they do have a scaled system but in the end if you take the total pay a driver makes dived by the total number of miles you run it will average between 55-60CPM, once again provided you run when and what you are supposed to run. This is for company drivers
3. Owner Opps make 70% gross + 100% fuel surcharge which averages out to about 1.61 per loaded mile. Yes some loads are low pay and some are high, but anyone who know the trucking industry knows that is the way it runs.
4. I have thier benifits, i pay $90 a week for a family plan. This is with co-pay for most services (30-60) and a $3000 deductible for any major claims-- Please explain how that is "crap benifits"
5. If they are as bad as you claim they are why did they only have around a 25-30% turnover rate for 2016? If i am correct most compaies thier size run 80-100%.
It is obvious you have a issue with Classic Carriers, perhaps you worked for them and they terminated you for ither your attitude or your performance, i am not sure, but would like to know -
You are correct, drivers are put into into 1 of 2 motels. The first motel is the Inn at Versailles which is in town (http://www.innatversailles.com/) If that motel is full, or if the driver has a pet with them then they are put in at the Comfort Inn located in Piqua (https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g50850-d95492-Reviews-Comfort_Inn-Piqua_Ohio.html#REVIEWS) .

Nope nor would I ever drive for them....for I have too much self respect and a life that is not spent all the time on the road. Funny thing about your figures however. Met one of your drivers the other night on our dedicated route....he was asking if we were hiring and gave a much more detailed all around report on your company.....which yours seems to fall quite short. He even showed what he made killing himself in the process. I was not surprised but felt bad for the chap. I think he almost had a heart attack when I showed him my direct deposit for four days at mine.

I do not know, was the driver a OO or CD? All i know is what i make. I get home most Fridays and go back out most Sundays, i run a full week (5.5 days) and i know how to manage my time with the e-logs in order to make the most of the time i am out there. If the driver you met does not do the same, then yeah i could see him not making it here (or really anywhere). It is not always the company that pays low, it is a lot of time the drivers not managing thier time and not running like they should.
What i posted is factual, it is what i make and a lot of drivers make at Cassic Carriers. We do have some drivers who make less and struggle, but if they do then that is on them. I would like to get some more info on this check you claim you saw. How many loads did he do, how many miles did he run, how many days did he run. And i will say it again with a turnover rate of 25-30% yes they may not be a perfect fit for some drivers, but they apparently are for a lot of drivers, or else the turnover would be a whole hell of a lot higher. -
Guys can do a lot worse then classic carriers never heard anything bad about them.
