Thanks the only reason we were looking at this truck is 21k out the door tax title everything but this would be a team truck getting about 6k miles a week. Maybe we should look at the 500hp Volvo 780 we found with 543k on it with the d13.

Team?
No. Not just no but Hay-ul no.
That little thing is too small for two. Quit being cheap and start looking for large cars.
Ima telling you, that truck is going to cause two people to butcher each other one day. Don't buy it for team. To be honest, don't be stupid doing that. It's NOT a team truck.
21`K is fuel money for a month. If you are worried about buying a cheap truck, this will do it. But it will BITE you MASSIVELY where it's tender when you try to be cheap. If you are going to be a American Trucker, by God be a AMERICAN TRUCKER.gentleroger Thanks this. -
Will move a box and probably will end up doing ports if it stays on the market too long

That's funny and I am teaming with the wife we are in a cascadia now but it's the 500
. How about the Volvo 780?
-
Back in the day, teams ran twin bed cabovers, cause that was the biggest they had, or conventionals with coffin sleepers. And if they were friends and it was summer, maybe even toss in a 9 year old kid!x1Heavy Thanks this.

A couple points...
1st is the tranny blows chunks. Not because it's a auto, but because it's a fuller 10 auto. For a tanker no biggie, but reverse has one speed. That's of a fast jog about 5mph. If you are trying to creap in a dock or park at a truckstop one has to ride the brakes hard to get it to creep.
2nd is mid roof means one bunk I belive. For a team truck that's a deal breaker. What happens if they overnight somewhere because no freight untill the morning?Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
My truck is ex-tanker yanker. No roof fairing. It will do the job. Is it the best truck you could pick? Of course not. Trucks are a dime a dozen. You're wanting to team in that rattle trap cracker jack box?
Take your time and get the right one.
Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
Air products runs a lot of team trucks. Good chance that may have been one of them.

Just a FYI: today, the trucking industry in the US is the largest employer of ex-convicts. The idea of the American Trucker has shifted to flip-flops, gang-style clothes and rap music blasting from a Volvo with iShift.
Get with the times, gramps!Bean Jr. Thanks this.
