About time they start going after the real culprits out there.

Ya right.... you are not falling for this are you? They are saying the same thing... They will still pull "over" a big truck just as fast as they did before...Last edited: Oct 23, 2008

Dang, you mean I'm not in la-la land yet? Darn it!

I have read about these before when they have done them. Yes they will go after reckless trucks as well as cars. The positives are there though. These bears that are riding with the drivers will get a better understanding of trucking.
Also they will help to educate some of these 4-wheeler drivers that drive recklessly....and maybe some truckers also. We all see them out there tailgating, cutting in front of other trucks without proper distance ect.
I would like for some of these drivers to get educated as well as the 4-wheelers.old-six-pack and DannyB Thank this. -
Well it's about time, I'm based out of Indy and they are dog's.

Indiana has got a great idea, there putting troopers in the cab of trucks and going after aggressive drivers (cars and trucks) towards trucks. Maybe this will teach some people how to drive with trucks and not cut us off so much?
ANDERSON, Ind. (AP) - State troopers are riding along with truck drivers in an effort to catch motorists who speed or drive too close to the big rigs.
less than two hours after the enforcement began this week, troopers issued 31 tickets and nine warnings, most for speeding or following too close, state police Sgt. Wayne Flick said.
Tickets were issued to drivers of both cars and trucks, he said.
"It doesn't matter if you're in a passenger car or commercial vehicle: We're going to be looking at you," Flick said.
State troopers will ride along with truck drivers looking for aggressive driving around the trucks. If the trooper sees a violation, he will radio other troopers to pull over the motorist.
No specific area of the state is being targeted for the patrols, and troopers will target interstates and state highways, Flick said.
The program has the support of the Indiana Motor Truck Association, said Kenny Cragan, the group's executive director.
"Ultimately, better enforcement could save lives," Cragan said. "That's the reason we support it."
National statistics show that investigators give primary blame to car drivers for 56 percent of the crashes between large trucks and cars, Flick said.
Cragan said the program is intended to apply to all drivers.

That is my old stompin grounds. I know some of them fellars. Hopefully word will get out and 4 wheelers will learn to quit cutting us off. Goes the same for some truck drivers.

Indiana State Police also use completely unmarked '08 Mustangs. I applaud what the state is doing to make its highways safer.
