anyone ever seen or built a rack to slide into the tow hook mounts to carry a mini bike or moped?

I'm always stuck sitting at a truck stop with places I want to go to that are just a little to far to walk. I want to carry my Honda trail 70 with me so I can run into small towns when I'm laid over someplace. Seems I'm always a little to far from a store, business or restaurant I want to go to and I'm either out of time or there is no truck parking nearby.

Keep an eye out. you'll see trucks with pedal bikes on the back of can. Some even pack their Harleys on back.
I'd pack a pedal bike but never my Harley. Those things can get ruined with the weather alone. imagine other types of driving where the tires can doing on the bike. I don't think I ever saw one covered.BigTennOTR Thanks this. -
I've been seeing pedal bike racks on the tow hooks, but never something the size of what you're talking about. But I have seen drivers with their motorcycles on the catwalks. It's always been a really nice custom job. I would love to havr my bike with me, but I would never get any sleep. The second that truck was parked, I'd be doing wheelies lol

I've got one for the back of my pickup at home. Some trucks have the hook slots on the front which are pretty much the same type of receiver as the tow slot.
Sorry I cant remember who I got it from. I think my wife bought it off Amazon or someone on craigslist.
The one I have is fine fr 1 or 2 bicycles,.. I dont think it would hold a scooter or moped.
It uses the hitch receiver and then the top of the tail gate for support.
I just did a quick search and found this.
Not sure if I'd want something like that on the front of my truck,.. but that looks strong enough for what you want to do. Maybe they of something smaller the does the same thing.

I seen one on a tow truck with a Harley on it, but it looked homemade

A few points to consider:
- Anything outside will get very, very covered in road crud regardless of location.
- If on the front and uncovered add damage from road debris (rocks, etc.).
- If on the front and covered you're now blocking airflow to the grill and will likely cause overheating.
- Anything added to either the front of the tractor or rear of the trailer adds to your overall length.
As for a moped/mini bike I would only carry it on the catwalk behind the cab/sleeper, or on the deck of a flatbed and covered in both cases.Tb0n3 Thanks this. -
Gotta figure overall length and steer weight. Not to mention it will be taken off with your hood.

If you own your trailer you can just get a tire rack and tie it up, and I have seen a truck around my area with a rack that would fit your needs if I ever see it I will take a picture of it

I'm talking about a 1970 Honda trail 70.....not a full blown motorcycle. I actually saw a truck yesterday with a Honda dual purpose bike on the front of a Volvo. I pull reefers and I don't own them. Different one almost every trip. I could carry it on the catwalk but it would be easier to load/unload on the front.
