Hey thanks for those companies. I did apply to Marten so I guess I will wait on Monday to speak to all these recruiters that I applied to today lol. But it was Schneider. They also tried to tell me how what my Unit Commander was going to do and not going to do if I missed drill. So I decided to cut my losses with them because I saw them being a problem in the future and at the end of the day the military is not something to be played around with. They wanted me to work until the last minute the day before my drill knowing that I still had to come home and get ready and drive three hours for my drill. They really don't support military or at least me for that matter.

Yeah, Schneider has too many BS policies and babysitting equipment in their trucks. I don't understand their load planners either. They'll have an OTR driver shuttle a local load 50 miles from a terminal burning up his clock and then send you a dispatch for an OTR run making it "just in time" or late alltogether. Not just SNI, I heard many megas do this. Oh and the HHG mileage pay is really nice too. Getting paid 770 miles for an 810 mile run. I lasted a whole two weeks there. They are nice people but the whole operation and corporate BS just was not for me.

Yea they did that to me too. Have me drive 79 miles to pick up an empty to drop so I could pick up my loaded trailer. Mind you the loaded trailer was only 48 miles from my location. So I had to drive past the shipper to pick up this empty to drop. This was all in Atlanta too. Im glad Im not in that position any more and not the only one who feels the same way. I thought I was going crazy.Florida Playboy Thanks this. -
Mosley in lawtney hone on weekends good pay

So are you wanting to go otr? Or dedicated? Bc otr may require more than a week out. You have to give dispatchers at least a good 2 weeks out in order to run you good and get you in a lane bringing you back. And living in florida...####... I started with swift 3 1.2 yrs ago...did it for 1 yr then got my own truck and been at landstar since.
I love florida id never want to live anywhere else..
BUT in this industry....florida is costing me..so im in columbia sc as of march.
If i had my own authority maybe work out in florida.(short runs pay way more)....
You just have to find what works for you and what you really want to put into trucking.

Sounda like they wanted to replace the (preloaded) trailer you were getting so they can keep preloaded trailers. Live load vs preloaded means a empty trailer has to be there.
If im understanding your statement right -
Thodges, well after doing OTR I'm thinking about regional or dedicate or local. I have an interview with waste management coming up and I chose that because no experience is required and I get still use my CDL and the pay is a little better than OTR and home nightly can't beat that. But I really love Driving trucks and I know this is a tough industry. But if I can make it in the Army I canmake it any where. Just gotta fit in where I can guess. One thing I won't be doing is being taken advantage of because they think I'm a newbie and will just say yes to everything they say. I'm not young and born yesterday. But I do know that it's bad job skipping. So that's why I'm really trying to find the right company that I can make a career of. When I was in CDL school the recruiter hyped me up and I jumped onboard. I had other recruiters but I didnt go into extensive research like now. The previous company gave me a load that was a ten hour drive by itself with an appointment time and that's not including traffic. So I already knew this load was going to be late. But they got mad at me because I couldn't deliver it on time. Knowing that this load was ready a day prior. So it just sat for a day knowing this I still tried to deliver but I had no choice because it's forced dispatched so now after reaching out to you guys I have the tools to ask the right questions Thank you for your reply and congrats on the move. I love Florida but for this industry it sucks. Lol but wife wants to stay here so happy wife is a happy life right lol

You are right. But I could have just picked this loaded trailer up and they could have had one of those trainees go pick up that empty and drop it off. Makes sense to me but I guess not.
-
Thank you but that is too far from my home to travel. It's a 300 mile drive. I will still check them out because I don't want to miss out on an opportunity if it all plays in my favor

Gave you 79 miles there..+ 48 miles back to get preloaded trailer...
Sounds good to me.(if i were compa y driver)PhilKenSebben Thanks this.
