I currently work for a good company but lately I've been trying to find something local where I can be home more. I've run into a slight situation and kinda want to get some advice on it. I've applied for a few jobs but they all denied me because they said I had four moving violations. My mvr is completely clean other than a obstructing traffic ticket I received for parking on the on ramp at a rest area in Tennessee. There were 5 drivers that got the same ticket at once. The ones that denied me are

cell phone use and seat belt at the same time - November of 2014
Seat belt ticket - June 2015
    Speed warning - July 2015

cell phone use ticket was dismissed because I had dash cam video showing that my phone wasn't near me and the officer thought he saw it.

Out of the four times I was pulled over the only things I've received a ticket for is the obstructing traffic and the two 10 dollar tickets for seat belt.

Are seat belt ticket considered moving violation when it involves a cmv? I know in a personal vehicle in my state it is not a moving violation.

I feel it's messed up I'm getting turned down for stuff that I never had to pay a fine for like warnings etc. any suggestions on getting this cleared up?

So. What is on your 3 year MVR? You say it's completely clean except for .... and go on to list a bunch of stuff. Anything '14 or '15 is still inside the customary 3 year inquiry. '14 is borderline when it will come off here in mid '17.

These things may seem minor to you but you're competing with a lot of other applicants who probably have zero issues to explain. An MVR with "Clear" and a good PSP score is always a huge plus in the truck driver trade.

But keep trying. Guys with bigger issues get hired all the time.

Seat belt violations carry almost the same weight as DUI or reckless driving (like 15 mph over the speed limit). The fact you received two is a huge red flag, because it shows a pattern of disregard for the law. You may need to wait until they drop off your record before you can apply for a better job.

While folks can argue that seatbelts should be optional, the fact is they are not. Your CDL is your most valuable possession, protect it at all costs. Your best protection is to do things the right way.

With experience and a clean CDL you can make a lot of money. Once you have racked up points your CDL loses value, as you will find it very difficult to get a better job or even lose your job.

Also consider that job hopping counts against you. Good companies red flag applications that show a pattern of short employment.

When you pull my mvr is shows only the obstructing traffic ticket when I parked on the on ramp to take my 10 hour break. The cell phone ticket doesn't because it was dismissed. The seat belts don't show in my mvr even though I did receive a fine for it. I was told that In the state of Arkansas they classify it as non moving violation and doesn't show on Mvr. Everything they counted against me was showing in my csa report. So basically my mvr is clear of any moving violations but my csa shows a cell phone, two seat belts, and speed warning.

So keep being told my mvr is clean and good but my csa shows that I've been pulled over for these things and that I'm a hazard.

Those things on your MVR may seem like nothing to you but they do add up.Companies you applied to it seems they all want a clean MVR.

Yeah, that's what I've been saying but everyone else keeps saying mvr. My csa is what's causing my problems. I'm basically wondering if I can get things off my csa if I never received a citation for it.

Trying to get points off your csa is like finding a pure lady in a brothel. Hard to do, but it is doable. Send in the dismal papers and file a request for removing. It works sometimes

From what I've heard.... time is your only solution. Points will go down every year and disappear in 3 years. Even if it was a warning, you get the points.
The companies that would hire you will also gain the CSA points... so your not an attractive hire....
Don't have a solution for you except.... wait....

His cellphone and seatbelt are over 2 years so no points to company. But they're still basically the end of your career till they disappear.

BTW. According to Utah. companies that are hiring pull up 10 year histories. It's been awhile since I've seen anyone ask for a copy of recent mvr with job app.
