Okay,,, what you are saying is that you should bear to the left instead of taking exit "160" as this is a business type of exit?

Two more instances of 730 routing me on a longer (both mileage and time) route. #1: Dumas, AR to Morris, IL. Routed me I-55 to IL-47. The shorter route by 20+ minutes is I-55, I-57, I-74, to IL-47. #2: Des Plaines, IL to Eagan, MN. It routed me I-90 to Rochester, MN, then US 52. Shorter by 15 minutes or so is I-90, I-94 to I-494 at the Twin Cities. My settings are set to "fastest" and "Allow all" roads (default settings). I don't understand why the 730 has started doing this all of a sudden.

I have had the 730 route me exit 10 off the NJTP and up i287 to i87 instead of just going straight up the NJTP to i80 to Rt 17 to 87 which is faster and shorter.
I also have it set for fastest and allow all.
Sometimes it seems like the 730 routing makes no sense

    Mark,
I am getting ready to upgrade to the 740 but a couple of questions.

    1. Can I transfer my data from my 720 to the 740.. mileage history

    2. Any idea of how much data is used while using the traffic since I figure I will have to tether it to my phone for internet connection for traffic and weather.

    3. While using traffic does it offer reroutes when delays are detected like google maps does ?

    1. - Yes
    2. - It is internet based and will really depend on how much you use daily. You can use a few days and then check your data off your phone services.
    3. - Yes, but if does not show on the map screen, but does allow you to detour around the traffic area.

    Thanks,
    Mark

So on #2 - does RM have any type of base use number? Most systems that use cell data are able to give some kind of estimate useage.

on #3 - i have noticed on my 730 - the little traffic icon in the bottom left will turn red (i think) and if i hit that then i get 2 choices, current route and optional route. given its only picking up traffic 30 miles out, if im running a 500 mile run, then i have to kind of watch to see if that icon turns red and then hit it as many times as might be needed, correct? there is no sound and no auto re-route feature?

This question came out with the x20 models. I think at that time it was figured about 500-600mb running 11 hours daily/7 days a week for a month. I have not heard anyone using a whole lot of data if running all three services... But, again, it will all depend on how often you use.

That I will have to check on the traffic. I don't remember the icon set to turn red..

    Thanks,
    Mark
