I don't understand why people get so jiggy about the cameras. Every place I have ever worked had cameras.

Gatorde run on 77 today in the rain & fog was crap. I was crab crawling at a cool 55 for most of it.

 

Turns out the big flashy sign warning you that the upcoming curve should be taken at 55 mph wasn't just a suggestion.

Does anybody know if the Volvo Warehouse in Elkridge, Maryland, allows trucks to sleep on their yard? I have a 7 a.m. delivery appointment there tomorrow, but I may be able to make it there this evening. If I can, I would rather just sleep there on their yard then try to find parking in the middle of the DC suburbs.

 

Yep. Look to see if any trl in the doors are mty, and pull it out and put yours in it. Then if you don't have time, pull into one of the parking spots and hit the sack. Or you could just pull in, hit the sack and wait for the am to do all that. Paperwork goes in a mailbox thing they have by the door, unless you wait for the morning, then just go in and they'll tell ya what's up.

 

I was hearing about that on the Xbox when I pulled into the Pilot by the yard last night. Heard it was really messy.

 

I rolled past it going south around 1400 yesterday and the stink of the acid working on the various materials was still hanging around. Imagine it probably been worse if it hadn't still been raining off and on.

 

I would think the rain would make the spill worse as it would spread the acid even more into drains etc.

 

Well, a moment I have been dreading since I first stepped into a truck has finally arrived.

I'm here at the Pilot on 81, just at the West Virginia state line. I was tooling around the parking lot looking for a spot, when suddenly, it happened: The cab curtain in the Fleetmaster Freightliner next to the spot in which I was gonna park peeled back, and a dude who looked like a cross between ZZ Top and Santa Claus stepped forward into his cab, buck nekkid. I got the full monty, as they say.

Put me right off my feed, it did. Gonna go into the truck stop here in a bit and see if they have any brain bleach...

 

Yer gonna have to do lines of fiberglass like coke to even have passing chance of scrubbing that away. Vaya con dios.
