Hours rule goes to White House

This don't sound good at all...wonder what they have came up with now?Ok drivers...What ain't ya'll doing right health wise...AGAIN?

I'm gonna tell ya something....I KNOW that trucks are much larger than POVs and I also know they are more capable of damage if involved in an accident, but dang it, our great government wants regulations for EVERYTHING. I tell ya what to do....make EVERY single person issued a driver's license keep log books and adhere to HOS and have to pass the medical exams and fitness tests and I almost guarantee things would soon change.

What kills the trucking industry is the STOOPID drivers....the ones that don't know their personal limits on fatigue....the ones that skimp around drug tests, and YES I know it still happens...the ones that think they are high and mighty and don't have to obey speed limits...the ones that don't care about maintenence of their truck....

I believe before anyone is allowed to make a regulation on something, EVERONE involved creating and passing the regulation needs to have at least a year or so experience in whatever that regulation revolves around. Yes there is a need for safety but there is a line between SAFTEY and RIDICULOUS!

In my opinion, every driver suffers because of one driver's mistake....lets put it into perspective....it's like having a murderer in the family and because that murderer is your family member...the whole family has to serve prison time because of the stupidity of ONE! Just think about it for a minute....

Insurance companies will have a big say-so in the rules if I had to guess....they have the best politicians money can buy on their side.. :smt045
