I just had a delivery in Atlantic City, NJ and was north bound on the White Horse Pike (Rt 30). Rt 30 is 2 lanes each way divided by a 12 foot wide grassy median. Car up a ways crosses over in front of me and stops on the median waiting to turn southbound onto the other side. A few moments later car #2 pulls out following car #1 but since car #1 is already occupying the median car #2 is now blocking both lanes of the highway in front of me. I've got the brake pedal to the floor preparing for a jacknife. I'm heading towards the shoulder, the cab is going to make it past the car (dark minivan woman driver) but the trailer is still half on the highway and I'm going to clip her. At the last possible second car #1 pulls out, car #2 inches ahead and I just make it past the minivan. I left over 150 feet of rubber on Rt 30 that day.

About 9-10 years ago we had a bad ice storm here. A tanker flipped over on a bridge on US-50 in Annapolis, so I had to take a different way back to the yard. I get on 50 going the other way, hit the first bridge doing about 45, and felt the back of the tractor start to go sideways.

Granted, that's relatively minor, but it was enough to make me slow down to about 15-20 mph the rest of the way back.

    #### Sir,

With all due respect, I take it that reading & comprehension was not your strongest subject area...

At NO POINT do I state that it's PRIME's fault.

You reading crap that's not in my post...Wanna read it again?

I suspect the road design (un-even levelling of the road's smooth surface versus "lowered" rumble strip) may have caused me to dance around. I guess that's the reason Highway signs warn drivers of "un-even surfaces". Was I fatigued?, probably

All I said was "I wonder what would have happened"....and my post casts no fault of my whip-lashing to no-one.

Dang....is it that HARD TO READ??????

Having to run the shoulders of the PA Turnpike with wiggle wagons in the winter while IT was under construction was always fun, not.

Every time I leave my truck unattended I always pull on the trolley handle and back into the trailer, those mother ducking fifth wheel pin pullers are everywhere

I'm medically retired but way back in 97-99 I had a few that to this day still make me go how did I get out of these alive. November of 97 right before Thanksgiving loaded up for Chicago out of CA with lettuce. I was right in between Sac and the 58 so either way was open. Asked my tour guide for a weather report on 40 across Flag. She comes back CLOSED and then right about then I hear on the CB 58 just shut down due to a 4 wheeler playing tag with a truck hauling low level Radioactive materials. I'm like well Donner here I come. I get to Donner it is Max freaking chains to get over the sucker. I make it over but I noticed that traffic going west is stopped. I was in the last group to make it thru before an avalanche on Donner that night.

July 98 Binghamton NY some teenage punks for a prank threw a heavy equipment tire full of cement into the middle of the road. Ever been in a truck doing 55 stopped in less than 100 feet. I was the cops when they came out saw what I had hit said thank God a semi hit it not a car. The punks that did it are still waiting for Parole. 2 counts each of attempted murder is what they got charged with.

July of 99 picked up a load out of Southwestern Colorado heading back home. Trouble was truck had no Jake brakes on it. I had 48K in the box and I had to take RT 50 back across CO. I crapped out seat cushion for a week after that run. At the bottom of Monarch I had all 5 axles smoking even with water from the sweet corn top ice dripping on my brakes. The shop was less than pleased that I ruined 5 axles of brakes I said well I could have barrel rolled the truck at 140 MPH instead going downhill which is easier to fix.

Come off 35 between roughly Arlington Texas and Dallas for 30 westbound on the flyover ramp. In that time the ramp had a S inside the middle.

It was a friday night, Im in the middle of the S working to swap sides sorta to finish the merge onto 30 west. I see a movement in my mirrior and noticed two kids in a black mazda convertable inside my left under the middle of my trailer against the left wall in the middle of the S aiming for the very rapidly shrinking daylight to my left as the right hand curve took hold.

I knew those two teens were dead, it's a matter of how much stew with broken bone and gore I am fixing to make with that FFE tractor when contact is made with my tractor, black car and that wall. They were still coming on with that crappy 4 cylinder trying to get ahead and no time left to slow down and drop back because the trailer wheels are already coming around to close it off behind them. Get mashed on the front, under the middle or under the rear tandems. How is this going to be idiots?

I jogged the wheel to the right aiming for the other retaining wall placing that semi into a path that I hope was not irrevocable for me. The mazda squeaked past on the left and gave me the middle finger as I recovered the tractor trailer from what I recall as very unnatural visual angles of that dam wall. And still at 35 or so with 30 coming up quick.

I should have stayed put and allowed the rig and walls to mash the two teens.... let the chips fall where they may. But no... I figure I would try something and pull a rabbit out of my pocket.

    Some rabbit.
