I want to throw this out there....

I have an idea and want to see where this goes...

I've been wanting to lease on with Landstar but kinda don't want to
just buy a truck and be thrown to the wolves...

I was thinking that if maybe there is an O/O out there who may be
looking to retire or a small fleet owner with an idle truck that I could
jump on and start out with some help until I was able to fly on my own.

This could be a win-win where the owner can make money by taking
a cut of my profit, selling me either his truck or another and in return
helping me to start out on the right foot and showing me the ropes of
    a veteran O/O....

I've been in trucking my whole life with 40 out of 48 states and just about
a million miles safe driving. This is kinda on my bucket list to own my own.

I am 57, single and currently live in Florida but can relocate anywhere if
needed. I am working for UPS Freight and can leave them with 2 or so
weeks notice. This is just an idea that I had and just want to get some
feedback if I am on the right track or not.....

If you have any ideas, please PM me for my phone number....

    Any help would be appreciated....
    Gary

I don't know if ur going to find anybody willing to do this but if you're scared of the jump go easy. Find a cheap truck that will pass inspection, try to pay cash or a really low nut and after you get the swing of things upgrade in a few months. Land star is easy to get along with and they work with you. As long as you can manage money and put some away you'll do fine. Don't go crazy with your first truck, fright liner centuries are great starters, focus on fuel mileage, and preventative maintenance. It's not always about making more money but saving it.

Landstar usually has info on people planning on retiring or looking to put a driver on their truck , get in touch with them and see.
