Any insight on how auto hauler dispatchers are paid? Is it generally a full time gig?
It seems as though it is very specialized and I'm territorial over handing over those responsibilities. Im looking for assistance in booking cars, contacting clients, etc...
Booking for 4 trucks plus brokering cars-Ideas please

KANSAS TRANSIT Thanks this. -

Go into the classifieds on CD, there are a bunch of people advertising on there.

I'm not looking for one yet
I just want some feedback on how they're paid and what responsibilities they are generally given ...KANSAS TRANSIT Thanks this. -
Seems like what you are looking for will be almost a full time job, so I would suggest hiring an actual dispatcher as an on the books employee at your office. This would give you the most control over their actions and they would be representing only you.
If you do hire a dispatch service they are usually paid percentage of the loads they book or units brokered at about 10-15%LBZ and KANSAS TRANSIT Thank this. -
Not to mention I just saw that you were enclosed, might make a difference finding a person that knows what they are doing to load you, could wind up with orders for duallies, Hummers, and cargo vans, just saying it might be a rough honeymoon?LBZ, Terry270, passingthru69 and 2 others Thank this.

Dispatcher are paid a percentage of loads dispatched to you and yes they can work full time depending on your needs

& in todays world where brokers are trying to KEEP 45% of gross, to have another 10-15% scalped off the top is maddening. I understand there is a cost to do business & to have wheels rolling vs sitting & looking for loads. Completely agree with hiring an employee to dispatch & can have them do other things such as IFTA & DOT compliance. Which for a 3/5/10 truck operation may work. But the money is not there in a one truck operation.
The never ending rock & a hard place scenario for small business owners.brian991219 and KANSAS TRANSIT Thank this. -
Not so sure about the 3/5 truck operations anymore!!!brian991219 Thanks this.
