A CB RADIO IS USUALLY SET THE DEADKEY AT 1/4 OF THE TOTAL WATTS THAT RADIO WILL DO. MEANING A 100 WATT RADIO THE DEADKEY IS SET AT 25 WATTS AND SWINGS THE 100 WATTS THE RADIO WILL DO. THE MODULATION OF THE RADIO IS SET AT WHAT IS NEEDED FOR EXACTLY THAT THE PROPER MODULATION NO DISTORTION AND CLEAR AUDIO. MOST TECHS NEED GLASSES TO DO THAT BUT I DON'T THINK THEY REALIZE IT. A GOOD NOISE CANCELLING MIC. IS A MUST. ALL THIS CRAP ABOUT THE TUNE THE TUNE THE TUNE IS JUST THAT CRAP. NOT THAT HARD TO HAVE A CLEAN CLEAR SOUNDING RADIO. IF THE WORK IS DONE CORRECTLY. SOMETIMES THATS A BIG IF. ANY COMPETENT TECH SHOULD BE ABLE TO ACHIEVE THESE/THOSE RESULTS. !!!!

No yelling just the truth. Not rocket science or a need to be telling everyone that they/their equipment can't be set correctly...And that techs can't give them the proper results. And yes you should know what I'm getting at. And why.

    Diesel Dave Thanks this.

I like it when one cb shop will claim 45 pep watts out of a General Lee with dual 520 mosfets finals, yet another shop will advertise 60 watts pep, as if there is any significance difference between the two radios in transmit capabilities, and by the way my Dad can beat up your Dad.

    Yeah I know ... I know ...

Wolverine, no I won't detail it. I have in the past and been jumped on by "experts" here and other places. I just point to the fact that the best sounding and best DX radios do not have a swing, they have a consent signal.
