FYI, I have used a 12v cooler in trucks for 17 years now. I can not eat food at restaurants. Right now I am using a koolatron. 1) as long as it is not shut off, 1 gallon of milk will stay good during the late spring. I was running it in Iowa and the ambient air was 85. At night it cooled down to low 70s. I ran it all night, from 5 at night to 6 in the morning with the truck off, now problem starting. 2) It will freeze in the winter, but it will not keep things frozen.

Yep, sounds accurate for one of the electronic chip heat exchange/transfer types. How well it works (or not) is all determined by the temperature of the "room" it is in.
If you want to make it work a lot better in the hotter climates build the duct thing I described above from the truck A/C. It will help a lot. -
What inverter do you have ( watt ) ?
