From reading this thread I hope I don't get the famous purple turd either.
ncmickey, Vic Firth and Broke Down 69 Thank this. -
Hey Broken Down 69er, is it okay if I "unwatch" this thread now since you've moved on to greener pastures?
Broke Down 69 Thanks this. -
Reading thru tbis entire thread almost exactly a year later. Just got my Class A and am considering Trans AM simply for the perks/driver comforts they have in the trucks. I'm not worried about money the first year, so if I can have top notch equipment while I make sub-par pay I'm all for it.
Anyhow, back to my question, how did u know those who pissed hot, did in fact piss hot? Don't they send the urine samples to the lab and wait for a day or 2 to get results back? Anyway, just curious more than anything.
Air Force and Army vet here so thanks for your Naval service. I like what u had to say and trust your judgement. U still with TA btw? -

Freymiller has about the same perks. They hire new cdl grads through their "Restore Program" which is described on the website. If you want a refrigerator, the mechanics in the shop will install one they keep in stock. They're one of the best reefer outfits out there.
If pay isn't important, Stevens Transport has the same perks as TransAm and the trucks are even nicer. Take a close look at Freymiller and Stevens before making a decision.
There's a radio station on Freymiller website:

Just keep in mind that you won't be making any money, not even sub par, while you're sitting enjoying those perks. And the reason they have those perks, is because you will be given plenty of opportunity to enjoy them.Broke Down 69, Steel Dragon and Vic Firth Thank this.

According to a Stevens thread, they are paying $.30/mile plus $.10/mile per diem. For starting pay that's not bad.
-
That's horrible pay...i made that with dry van starting out nearly 20 yes ago..Broke Down 69 and tallinthesaddle4life Thank this.

That may be so, but who is offering first year drivers more? CFI with three months experience $.33/mile.
No mention of per diem on top of that.
