Well now, this statement really pisses me off. Mainly because it is true.
But not every driver is a moron nor is every driver a rookie that hasn't learned the difference between highway fuel and reefer fuel.
So if you are hiring drivers that are dumber than dog dirt, perhaps you should change your hiring policies.
Just a bit of helpful, unasked for suggestion.![]()

I agree that every driver isn't a moron, but it isn't the ones who are not that are dangerous one this is for, it is the one who you entrust your $175,000 rig to that burns it to the ground or screws up the ECM trying to do something you don't have an issue paying for. Yes practical experience raising its ugly head again.
We work in a world where the regulations are written to stop the dumbest of the dumb from doing something, not everyone and most people don't seem to get that either.Big Don Thanks this. -
Shoot, you can get a PhD, and not have a lick of common sense, nor know much about anything outside of their field of study.
Frankly, there is no business that I would be interested in owning, if I had to depend on others to do the job.
Guess I'm in a rare mood tonight, ' cause I seem to be pissed at the world in general tonight.25(2)+2 and Boattlebot Thank this. -
I got on 78 East below Allentown and had to crawl along at 5 MPH for 2 miles for construction.
I have a "Service Vehicles Only" qualifying vehicle, a Freightliner Rollback, so when I got near a cutover, I sighed a sigh of relief. Wouldn't you just know it; I was just 100 ft. short of said cutoff,
A PA's Finest State Trooper pulls into this cutover from the opposite direction - right in the center.
So - what to do, what to do. I just know he would be a PITA and shake me down basically
just cause he can. I kept going. Another 2 miles of one lane cones. Wonderful.
This done on the weekend of the Pocono 500 - when there are an extra 200,000 people visiting
from all over this great nation. And what was this construction that just couldn't wait?
The Pa. DOT had to patch two 20 foot sections of roadway RIGHT NOW.
Not Monday or Tuesday afternoon when there is negligible traffic. RIGHT NOW.
TOOK ME ONE HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES - TO GO ABOUT 5 MILES!!
So Big Don; I'm right there with you with steam coming out of my ears. -
To jump the starter, can in connect any two of those highlighted points? Or do I use a particular pair of points? Please help this is URGENT! Thanks. -
Make sure you're in neutral.
MAKE SURE. Block your wheels. (Or you die.)
Wear safety glasses.
Get the hot jumper cable and get under there and find hot stud,
The one with the red wire going to starter.
Put black wire to ground.
Tap red jumper cable to red stud to see if you are hot.
It will spark and turn. (If you got it right.)
Then - Give it the business - until it starts. -
Oh, and make sure it isn't low oil cutoff switch making it not start first?
Check the oil level.
(Do I really have to say that?)
