Schneider chicago local

I am only writing from secondhand info. I had a friend who used to drive it.

From what he told me, when you start, you will be regional, in that they expect you to stay in the truck for a week. You might run out of hours in Chicago, but more often then not, out on the road.

If you can get dispatched from Milwaukee or Green Bay, I can't remember which, you would be able to go home every night.

My friend did OK, and he had no real complaints, except that he didn't want to drive anymore, so he left.

 

I speak from personal experience. All Chicago dispatch is out of Chicago not anywhere else.

I'm assuming your looking for local work. I did a little of everything. Bust your but and work hard and you can make money. I worked there 4.5 years and 4 years was part time and still made $54,000-56,000 year.

 

If they're advertising a day cab position (which they always have up in Chicago) you're not going to spend overnights on the road. Getting Schneider to pay for hotel rooms is like pulling teeth so if you're in a day cab unless you break down you can pretty much guarantee your day will begin and end at the yard.
