Exxon Mobil: Biggest profit in U.S. history

What's a special item? I'll take a side of that for my 401k that's been cut in half recently, please...

 

Again CNN decided to not mention the percent profit or compare that to other industries or companies in the oil/gas industry.

BP had 148% higher profit. Again, the article doesn't mention % profits

I haven't been able to find anyone who's giving the percent profits for 3rd quarter yet. But you can bet the oil companies are in the 8-10% range while many other companies are in the 12-15% range. People just like to fuss about the big number. Well, if you only make 1.10 for every 1 you spend, but you do it a trillion times, you make a billion dollars. You don't make much each time, but you do it a lot.

 

This is ridiculous! How can any company gouge the American public like that and get away with it?

 

Do you know what the markup on clothing is? and yet the oil companies are gouging *rollseyes*

 

Escpecially good after they have included huge salaries for themselves into this. If those are removed, you would have extravagant earnings.

 

Don't get me wrong I have a problem with this.. BUT they should make a recored profit this year considering everything that has been going on.. They are not to blame 100%... It's not about the profit they are getting its how much the CEO and executives are getting paid, thats what we need to be upset about.. Not how much they made in profit but how much they are getting paid.. The field workers didn't get any raise.. The stock holders did not make that much of a profit.. So, don't get mad at how much they made in profit... Lets get mad at the greed from executives and the CEo's of this world....
